About La Staffa Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico Superiore

La Staffa Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico Superiore is an organic white wine made by La Staffa with the Verdicchi variety, in the DOC Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi, in the Marche region (Italy). 
 
Riccardo Baldi, an engineer and the owner of La Staffa, takes advantage of the intriguing mix of terroirs in the Castelli di Jesi area, between the Apennine hills and the Adriatic Sea, to produce organic wines that are extraordinary value for money and every year they get more and better reviews from experts.
 
The Staffa Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico Superiore comes from 5 hectares of vineyards located about 400 metres above sea level. These are 20-year-old vines planted in calcareous clay soils that, rich in calcium carbonate, give the wines a very unique flavour. They are cultivated using ecological agriculture and biodynamic treatments, and the harvest is carried out manually when the grapes reach optimum ripeness. 
 
In the winery, the La Staffa Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico Superiore grapes are gently pressed and the resulting must ferments in stainless steel tanks for 3 months before being bottled. 
 
The Staffa Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico Superiore is a cuvée from several vineyards. A mosaic of different terroirs that give the wine a strong personality backed by good freshness and flavour.
 
2020

La Staffa Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico Superiore 2020 is an aromatic white wine. On the nose, it is highly expressive, featuring hints of hay and flint. On the palate, it is well-balanced, showcasing a robust character, and is both crisp and flavoursome.
2019
Staffa Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico Superiore 2019 is an aromatic wine with intense fruity notes of apple and pear, touches of vegetables and herbs and hints of yeast. On the palate it is dry and acidic. A smooth, refreshing wine with a lingering savoury finish.
