About Dominio Do Bibei Lacima

Dominio do Bibei Lacima is a red wine from Ribeira Sacra produced by Dominio Do Bibei, a winery founded in early 2000 by a group of people deeply devoted to the land.

The climate in this area is Atlantic, characterized by a large temperature variation between seasons. This wine is a blend of Mencia (90%) and 10% of other varieties: Branmcellao, Mouratón, Souson and Grenache. The grapes come from vineyards between 50 and 100 years old, located at an altitude of between 300 and 700 metres. The vineyards are planted on different soil types: slate, clay and granite.
The harvest is done manually in boxes of 10 kg. After manual selection of grapes and stripping is carried out, there are 2 days of maceration, fermentation then occurs in open French oak barrels of 500 litres and malolactic fermentation in 300 litre barrels.

Finally, Dominio do Bibei Lacima rests for 19 months in French oak barrels before spending 16 months in the bottle.

2017

Lacima 2017 is a supple red wine suffused with scents of ripe fruit, complemented by herbaceous nuances and hints of spice, vanilla, and licorice. On the palate, it is refined, delicate, and vibrant. This wine boasts a commendable acidity, discernible creaminess, and subtle mineral undertones.
2014 This vintage of Lacima results in a concentrated, deep and elegant wine. As in each vintage, the good balance on the nose between the aromas of ripe red fruits, the spicy notes and the toasted notes of its ageing stand out. In the mouth, it is more intense, with volume and density but very direct due to the freshness that gives it fluidity.
2011

The palate is fresh, with a good acidity and ripe tannins. Notes of black fruit with spicy notes and minerals. Persistent finish.



Ruby red with a garnet rim, upper middle layer. Clear.

On the nose, there are aromas of ripe black fruits with notes of spiciness, smokiness, herbs and coffee. It is a complex wine.
2010 Fresh on the palate with a full body, good acidity, and decent, mature tannins. Dark fruit preserves, and mineral, round spices. Good, persistent finish.

Ruby red with a maroon, medium-high rim. A clean look.

Prominent, dark, ripe fruit tones on the nose. Spiced, smoked, herbaceous, coffee and mineralized hints. This wine is complex, interesting and ages well.
