L'Archetipo Mistico Primitivo Salento 2022 unveils a deep ruby hue that immediately captivates the eye. About L'Archetipo Mistico Primitivo Salento

Behind L'Archetipo stands Francesco Valentino Dibenedetto, a farmer by birth and an agronomist by calling. His family venture, nestled in the heart of Apulia, Italy, does not aim to make wine, but rather to let the wine come into being. Here in Castellaneta, the vineyard is not treated as a factory, but as a breathing ecosystem, expressing and transforming itself in harmony.

Inspired by synergistic agriculture and the philosophy of the Japanese Masanobu Fukuoka—a farmer, microbiologist, and philosopher who advocated for "do-nothing farming"—L'Archetipo has eschewed ploughing, excessive intervention, and forced control. Cultivation is carried out with the conviction that the land, if allowed, knows better than we do what it needs.

L'Archetipo Mistico Primitivo Salento is born from this philosophy. A wine that emerges from 6 hectares of deep red soils, rich in siliceous-calcareous gravel and humus, where the primitivo variety thrives without chemicals, without formulas, only with time, observation, and respect.

The vinification follows the same principle: spontaneous fermentation with the vineyard's own yeasts, 8 months of maceration allowing the wine to develop unhurriedly, followed by 18 months of ageing in steel, 24 more in large wooden casks, and a final rest of 8 months in the bottle. Unfiltered, unclarified, unadulterated.

The result is L'Archetipo Mistico Primitivo Salento. A profound, vibrant, and serene wine, not seeking to impress, but to accompany. A primitivo that forgoes excess to embrace the essential. To be savoured slowly, with open senses, like one listening to something genuine.
