About Les Jardins D´Édina

The Garden of Eden has captivated artists for centuries. Painters like Dürer or Rubens envisioned it as a paradise teeming with life and symbolism, while today it is reimagined to explore our relationship with nature, innocence, and temptation. Each era projects its values onto it, and in the world of wine, this myth also finds its reflection.

Thus was born Les Jardins D’Édina, the first cuvée by winemaker Olivier Riviere in Côtes de Bourg, Bordeaux (France). After temporarily leaving his estate in Rioja under the care of his brother, Olivier returns to his roots and devotes all his sensitivity to his vineyards, listening to each plot, each vine, and allowing himself to be guided by the land.

Named in honour of his daughter, Edina, this wine is a nod to the first land of abundance: a personal and tangible Garden of Eden. Composed entirely of merlot, it comes from vines over 25 years old, cultivated in silt soils with clay over deep gravel and clay-limestone, spread across the plots of Bourg and Lansac.

The harvest is manual, the grapes are destemmed and macerated for 3 weeks, fermenting with indigenous yeasts in concrete tanks. The ageing process combines concrete and 300-litre barrels, and the bottling is done without fining, with a light filtration, to preserve the vineyard's personality intact.

Les Jardins D’Édina is a wine that marries the intensity of ripe merlot with the freshness of the terroir, elegant and expressive, where each sip evokes the harmony and abundance of a legendary garden.
