About Les Pinyeres

Les Pinyeres is a red wine from the Monstant region. It is produced by Celler Masroig, and is a blend of Garnacha Tinta (40%), Cariñena (35%) with small quantities of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Tempranillo (which together make up the remaining 25%).

The vines that provide the grapes for Les Pinyeres grow on soil which is predominentely red clay.

The Harvest is carried out manually in small boxes, to ensure that the grapes do not break. The grapes are then deposited into tanks of carbón dioxide.

Following maceration, Les Pinyeres then ages for 12 months in French (70%) and American (30%) barrels.

Celler Masroig was founded in 1917 and is situated in the town of Masroig, in the province of Tarragona. The winery is home to 500 hectares of vineyards, which makes it the biggest in the Monstant region.

Les Pinyeres 2021 unfurls a spectrum of potent aromas, with ripe fruits such as plums and blackberries taking center stage, interwoven with a hint of spice from the oak aging. Upon tasting, it presents as a balanced and well-rounded wine, delivering a velvety texture and a profound flavor that saturates the palate, mirroring its concentration and caliber. An outstanding choice for those in pursuit of robust flavors and a pronounced mouthfeel.

Les Pinyeres 2018 boasts a robust intensity. The bouquet is commanding, brimming with aromas of red fruits, toasted nuances, and a spiced undertone. On the palate, it is delightful and harmonious. The finish is vigorous and crafted with artisanal finesse.
2012 Fresh and tasty. Shows hints of red fruit and black jam. Balanced and comprehensive.

2011 It is tasty, balanced, fresh and long. Hints of red fruit and jam black. Silky tannins and a finish of ripe fruit.

2010 In the mouth, it is tasty, balanced, intense and long. Touches of red fruit and hints of black jam. Mid-palate with silky tannins. Finish with a taste of ripe fruits.

2008 Wine with a nice, intense attack and a very tasty, sweet mid palate, full of fruit and creamy aromas. Good acidity. Well balanced wine with a long, persistent and very nice finish.  A great, intense and easy-drinking wine.

Bright and clean intense cherry colour with maroon reflections and thin tears.

Elegant aromas with strong and expressive notes of ripe fruit mixed with very well balanced elegant toasted and spicy aromas, smoky touches, very fresh balsamic notes, milky nuances and vegetal hints.
2007 Tasty and balanced. This Masroig wine is intense and fresh. Very well balanced, with a mid palate full of fruit. Unctuous. Ripe and round tannins. Long finish with a mineral and lactic aftertaste.

Beautiful cherry colour. Brilliant. Slow and abundant tears.

Intense aromas of black and red fruits accompanied by touches of roasted and spicy. Hints of cream. It needs to be opened some time before serving.
