About López Cristóbal La Colorada

López Cristóbal La Colorada is a red wine from the D.O. Ribera del Duero made by the López Cristobal winery. It is a single variety Tinta del País to which a little Merlot is also added.

The estate from which the wine comes from, named La Colorada, is located at an altitude of 790 metres. The vineyard is around 30 years old, and grows on limestone soil. After the harvest, which is carried out manually and in little fruit crates to transport the berries, the harvested grapes pass over a selection table. 

After undergoing the different production processes, including alcoholic fermentation at a constant temperature of 28ºC, López Cristóbal La Colorada ages for 12 months in French (70%) and American (30%) oak barrels. Before being sold, this wine rests in the bottle for another year.
