Directly from a Vinya Classificada comes this single-varietal Garnacha born in Coma de Cases. This old vineyard, over 30 years old, was planted in 1945 in the municipality of Poboleda, with very unique characteristics that have made it one of the most singular plots in the D.O.Q. Priorat. Its slate slopes (licorella) and its western orientation (where it receives less sun in summer) are the two fundamental elements that make it so special. This last aspect is no trivial matter, as it is of great help, especially in summer, when the high temperatures of the Mediterranean climate become somewhat threatening.
Throughout the entire interaction between man and vineyard, biodynamics will be fundamental. And in the winery, the same applies. Everything begins with manual harvesting and the transport of the clusters to the winery. Here, Mas Doix 1903 Coma de Cases Vinya Classificada is destemmed and subjected to a thorough inspection on the sorting table. From here, all the grapes are transferred to open French oak barrels where alcoholic fermentation will begin. For several weeks, the yeasts will be working, transforming the sugars in the must into wine.
