About Nit de Nin Mas d'en Caçador

Nit de Nin Mas d'en Caçador is a red wine from the Priorat produced by the Família Nin-Ortiz winery. This is in Porrera, one of the richest wine populations in Priorat.

The owners of the winery, Ester Nin and Carlos Ortiz, also are in charge of caring for the vineyards of the known wine Clos Erasmus.

Nit de Nin Mas d'en Caçador is a blend of Grenache and Carignan. The grapes come from old vines about 90 years of age grown following biodynamic organic farming methods. The vineyards are planted on "costers", hillsides with great inclines.

The development of Nit de Nin Mas d'en Caçador begins with a steep one month maceration of the grape, after stripping.

Subsequently, a must fermentation occurs at a controlled temperature. Nit de Nin Mas d'en Caçador is aged for one year and two months in French oak barrels.

It is a wine of very limited production; a jewel of Priorat.

2016 Nit de Nin Mas d'en Caçador 2016 is a structured red wine with character and elegance. A great vintage that reveals all the character of this vineyard clearly and sincerely, and where the varieties are clearly expressed. The aromas of ripe white fruit stand out, with notes of flowers and Mediterranean herbs. On the palate it is full and mineral, and with a freshness that makes it highly lingering.
2013 Good acidity and great elegance. Full-bodied with enjoyable mature tannins. Structured, with a balanced finish.

A purplish cherry colour. Full robe, clean and bright. Dark, saturated red wine. Abundant tear.

Touches of black fruit. Undertones of blackberry with reminiscences of blackcurrant and cranberry.
