In Austria, there is a corner where wine and landscape work in harmony. We speak of Neusiedlersee, a steppe lake that is not only a natural spectacle but also the soul of a wine region that is captivating palates. Here, in the heart of Burgenland, tradition and innovation join hands thanks to a group of winemakers who are well aware of their origins... and where they are heading.
They are Pannobile, an association formed in 1994 by wineries from the municipality of Gols. United under the motto "Rooted for generations – Connected since 1994", they produce wines with identity, authenticity, and local character. Their philosophy is clear: indigenous varieties, independent production, and a profound connection with the land.
Among these pioneers is Gebrüder Nittnaus, a family winery led by brothers Hans and Andreas Nittnaus, the eleventh generation of winemakers. Since 2007, they have been working with biodynamic viticulture certified by respekt-BIODYN, tending each vine with precision and respect for the environment. Their 36 hectares in Gols are a blend of heritage and contemporary vision.
And if there is a wine that embodies all of this, it is Grüner Veltliner Kreuzkapelle Preis. A white wine born from sunlit plots, where each grape is cultivated with respect and handpicked with care and discernment. In the winery, the process is a dance of finesse: gentle pressing, fermentation in stainless steel, and aging on lees that imparts depth without losing freshness.
Juicy, fresh, and vibrant, Grüner Veltliner Kreuzkapelle Preis is a white wine that speaks of the Burgenland sun, the lake, the hands that craft it... and why this region is garnering so much attention.
