About Núria Claverol Blanc de Noirs

Although siblings share both parents, the truth is that each one eventually develops their own character, their own perspective on life, and, of course, their own tastes and priorities. They don't always agree on everything. However, there are bonds that transcend any differences, and a mother's love is undoubtedly one of them. It is something that is neither questioned nor negotiated. It is something priceless.

From this sentiment arises Núria Claverol, the most special collection of sparkling wines from the Sumarroca family, one of the wineries with the largest viticultural area in the Penedès. In 2004, the family decided to combine efforts and sensibilities to pay tribute to their mother by giving her name to a range of cavas designed to go a step further.

Each of the Núria Claverol sparkling wines originates from a specific plot, site, or vineyard, perfectly identified and classified. Wines that speak of place, origin, and time. But the tribute does not stop at the glass. The bottle design is also part of the narrative: an elegant and distinctive shape, inspired by ancient Greek amphorae, which reinforces the idea of legacy and memory. Not by chance, this design was awarded the ADI-FAD prize in 2004.

Thus, vineyard and design come together to express that intimate and familial recognition, shaping the highest quality sparkling wines from Bodegues Sumarroca.

Núria Claverol Blanc de Noirs is born at Finca Rosendo, a vineyard located at an altitude of 200 metres, facing south, in the highest part of the Sumarroca estate, within the municipal district of Piera. A pinot noir with extremely calcareous soil, of loamy texture and shallow depth, under a Mediterranean climate that favours balanced ripening. The yield is restrained, around 4,000 kilos per hectare, aiming for concentration and precision, with the harvest conducted at its optimal ripeness.

In the winery, fermentation occurs in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks over 18 days, followed by an extended ageing of over 40 months on the lees, succeeded by more than 6 months after disgorgement, with a final dosage of 7 ml, placing it in a balanced and elegant brut style.

In this way, Núria Claverol Blanc de Noirs is a sparkling wine that combines depth, finesse, and emotion. Because when wine is born from respect, care, and affection, it is noticeable. And it is remembered.
