About Philippe Pacalet Chambolle-Musigny

Philippe Pacalet Chambolle-Musigny is a natural single-variety Pinot Noir red wine made by Philippe Pacalet under the A.O.C. Chambolle-Musigny, in Burgundy, France.

Philippe Pacalet is the nephew of Marcel Lapierre, a leading producer of natural and authentic Beaujolais wines. Philippe grew up with a philosophy of winemaking that is precise and exacting, where the vine is left to nourish itself, which allows it to reveal the personality of the terroir it comes from.

The grapes used to make the Philippe Pacalet Chambolle-Musigny wine come from vineyards with an average age of 50 years old, where clay and limestone soils predominate. Fermentation takes place without controlling the temperature, using native yeasts for four weeks and plunging the cap twice a day. The resulting wine ages with its lees for 15 months in oak barrels. No sulphites are added.

Philippe Pacalet's wines are characterised by their respectful production, with minimum intervention, which results in honest wines that express the full potential of the grapes and the landscape they come from.

2017 Philippe Pacalet Chambolle-Musigny 2017 is a red wine that reveals its elegance on the nose, with subtle aromas of flowers like roses and violets, accompanied by fruity and musk notes. On the palate it is silky and complex, with a distinguished mid-palate and a mineral hue.
