About Philippe Pacalet Pommard

Philippe Pacalet Pommard is a natural single-variety Pinot Noir red wine made by Philippe Pacalet under the A.O. C. Pommard, in Burgundy, France.

The grapes used to make Philippe Pacalet Pommard come from vineyards with an average age of 45 years old, south-facing and in a warm and sunny climate. The soils are mostly comprised of clays, limestone and pebbles and the team works under the principles of biodynamic agriculture in the vineyard.

The clusters ferment whole for four weeks with their native yeasts and without temperature controls. The cap is plunged twice a day. The wine ages for 16 months in oak barrels on its lees and without racking. No sulphites are added. It is bottled manually.

Philippe Pacalet works in more than 10 hectares of vineyards in Burgundy using the principles of organic farming and a non-interventionist philosophy that he learned from his uncle, Marcel Lapierre, one of the key figures in the world of natural wines.

Philippe Pacalet wines are made with respect for the vines and the vineyard and they clearly express the personality of the terroir they come from.
