About Philippe Pacalet Vosne-Romanée

Philippe Pacalet Vosne-Romanée is a monovarietal Pinot Noir red wine produced by Philippe Pacalet under the AOC Vosne-Romanée / Côte-d'Or in Burgundy, France.

 

Philippe Pacalet Vosne-Romanée wine is made from bunches which come from vines around 60 years old, which grow on land where calcareous clay soils predominate and are worked under the principles of organic farming. Winemaking begins with the carbonic maceration of the whole bunches. The grapes ferment with their own yeasts without temperature control. The resulting wine undergoes malolactic fermentation and is aged under its fine lees for a time ranging from 15 to 18 months depending on the vintage. It’s bottled without adding SO2.

 

Philippe Pacalet is a master in the art of making identity wines. Nephew of Marcel Lapierre, one of the leading winemakers in the natural wine movement, Pacalet inherited his low-intervention philosophy from his uncle when working in his vineyards and making his wines. He defines himself as a "developer of terroirs". He uses ancient and modern techniques, passion and know-how, with the aim of obtaining wines which are a faithful reflection of each of the terroirs he works with loving care, such as this Philippe Pacalet Vosne-Romanée.

 

2018 Philippe Pacalet Vosne-Romanée 2018 is a tasty red wine that presents a juicy fruity power of red berries on the nose, accompanied by aromas of undergrowth, violets and cinnamon. On the palate it elegantly reaffirms the fruit and expresses a lively depth and energy. A red wine worthy of Vosne-Romanée.
