About Princic Trebez

Princic Trebez is a natural orange wine coupage made with the Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio and Sauvignon Blanc varieties, by the Azienda Agrícola Dario Princic, in the region of Friuli Venezia Giulia, Italy.

The Dario Princic winery is located north of Gorizia, just a stone’s throw from the Slovenian border, and is made up of 10 hectares of steep vineyards in clay and sandstone soils that are cultivated using the principles of organic agriculture.

Princic Trebez is made with a blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio and Sauvignon Blanc varieties, which come from plots of 60-year-old vines that grow in clay-calcareous soils. The musts of each variety ferment separately and spontaneously. The musts remain in contact with the grape skins during maceration, which lasts between 8 days for the Pinot Grigio, and up to 22 days for the Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc varieties. The wine ages for 24 months in oak barrels. It is bottled without filtering.

Dario Princic is one of the leading producers of orange wines and is a true local pioneer who, together with Stanko Radikon and Josko Gravner, has been one of the champions of the non-interventionist approach in the vineyard and in the winery. He makes old-fashioned artisan wines using local traditions.
