About Rimarts 40 Gran Reserva

Cava is the Spanish sparkling wine with its own Denomination of Origin that is world renowned and enjoyed in more than 100 countries. One of the wineries that has made a name for itself thanks to its quality cavas is Rimarts. A small winery in Sant Sadurní d'Anoia, the name is formed by the name of the current owners’ father, Ricard Martínez de Simón. With rigorous control in the vineyard, long aging and very affordable prices, Rimarts sparkling wines have become a favourite among those who love the best bubbles.

One of the wines they produce is Rimarts 40 Gran Reserva, a cava made from the traditional Macabeo, Xarel·lo and Parellada varieties with a small amount of Chardonnay. Organic grapes are manually harvested and then vinified, as required by the rules of the world of Cava, following the champenoise method. The grapes are destemmed and pressed and the resulting must is fermented with native yeasts in stainless steel tanks. The wine is then bottled to begin the second fermentation and aged for a minimum of 40 months. Finally, it is disgorged by hand (the date of this process is written on each label) without adding expedition liqueur.

Rimarts 40 Gran Reserva is a creamy sparkling wine with aromas of ripe white fruit, notes of yeast and hints of dried fruits. On the palate it is precise, clean and well structured. A dry cava with perfectly integrated carbonation, noticeable acidity and a long and very pleasant finish.
