About Rioja Vega Crianza

Rioja Vega Crianza is a red wine from La Rioja produced by the Rioja Vega winery. This wine is a blend of Tempranillo (80%), Grenache (15%) and Mazuelo (5%).

Different types of grapes are used for the production of Rioja Vega Crianza from the cellar' own farms.

Once the grapes are harvested and transported to the winery, a process of fermentation that lasts about ten days takes place. After this period, it is macerated with its skins for 18 days and then goes through malolactic fermentation in stainless steel tanks at 28º.

Rioja Vega Crianza finally ages in American oak barrels for about a year. Movements take place twice during this time.

Finally, Rioja Vega Crianza rests another six months in bottle before going to market. Bodega Rioja Vega was established over 125 years ago, even before La Rioja. The philosophy of this winery is to preserve the typicality of their wines despite advances in recent years.

2021

Rioja Vega Crianza 2021 is a silky red wine that captivates from the outset. Its bouquet reveals intense notes of ripe fruits such as blackberries and currants, intertwined with subtle hints of cinnamon and a delicate toffee caramel. On the palate, it is enveloping and velvety, leaving a profound fruity imprint and a sense of harmony. Rioja Vega Crianza 2020 unfurls a spectrum of scents, with ripe blackberries and redcurrants taking centre stage, interwoven with toasted nuances evocative of cinnamon and toffee. On the palate, it reveals a significant concentration, providing a rich tasting experience that mirrors the quality of this Riojan red. It is a wine that speaks volumes, demonstrating a harmony between fruit and oak that renders it approachable and delightful.
2019

Rioja Vega Crianza 2019 is a medium-bodied and exceptionally luminous red wine. On the nose, it reveals notes of ripe blackberries and currants, perfectly intertwined with toasted aromas, cinnamon, caramel, and toffee. On the palate, it is velvety and highly pleasant, with a pronounced expression of fruit. It is long, with high-quality tannins and a concentrated profile.

2015 Rioja Vega Crianza 2015 is a structured, light and pleasant red wine. A vintage where the aromas of the ageing are in perfect balance with the aromas of the variety. In the mouth, it is round, honest and elegant.
2012 Pleasant, fine and smooth. Fleshy and well integrated tannins.

2008 A nice and balanced Crianza wine from La Rioja with a warm and bulky attack. Good mid palate with a nice silky texture. It shows notes of spicy fruit. Noticeable but integrated tannins. Correct acidity, which together with its balsamic aromas provides this wine with a good freshness. Good finish.

Nice and intense cherry red colour. Clean and bright wine.

The notes of red and black fruit are mixed with hints of liquorice, subtle toasted and good spicy aromas, such as cinnamon and vanilla,... Light balsamic background.
2007 The palate is structured, fleshy and balanced. Velvety, powerful and delicious mid palate.
