About Castellroig Brut Rosat

This narrative commenced over 135 years ago when a man planted the first xarel·lo vine in a privileged corner of Alt Penedès, 50 km from Barcelona. Little did he know that this intimate and ancestral gesture would eventually give rise to one of the most captivating projects in the world of Catalan sparkling wine: Sabaté i Coca.
 
Four generations later, the family continues to pay homage to the land with wines and sparkling wines that embody origin and conviction. On their estate in the Bitlles River Valley, a natural mosaic comprising 40 hectares, 66 plots, and 18 different soil types, the richness of the terroir is expressed with an almost poetic sensitivity.
 
Marcel Sabaté, oenologist and custodian of the family's legacy, has charted an intimate map of each plot's soul, micro-vinifying them separately to capture the uniqueness each corner of the vineyard offers. This profound knowledge has been pivotal in the winery becoming one of the founders of Corpinnat, the European collective brand that guarantees a sparkling wine crafted entirely on the estate with the highest quality standards.
 
Castellroig Brut Rosat is the delicate fruit of this commitment to the land and time. It is born from traditional varieties—garnacha, trepat, and xarel·lo—cultivated organically and vinified using the traditional method. The sparkling wine rests for a minimum of 18 months in the bottle on its lees, preserving the essence of its ageing intact.
