About Serras del Priorat

An excellent Priorat wine, briefly aged in wood to achieve an expressive and young wine. In this very tasty new vintage, Clos Figueras decided to add Cabernet Sauvignon to add to the wine's aromatic complexity.

Along with the Grenache, the Samsó (Carignan) and the Syrah, the Cabernet Sauvignon adds the final piece to complete this great wine. The harvest is carried out by hand and after being selected on the sorting table, the grapes ferment in 25 hl vats with two treadings per day. After macerating for two weeks, the malolactic fermentation and ageing takes place in second use French oak barrels of 300 and 500 litre capacity. It ages for 7 months. Before being bottled it is lightly filtered. It is good to drink now but can also be drunk within the next 5 years. Serras del Priorat 2011, a wine which is excellent value for money, is a good way of getting to know Priorat.

2022
Serras del Priorat Negre 2022 unveils itself with a succulent and approachable disposition. Olfactory, it unfurls a tapestry of ripe red and black fruit aromas, interwoven with a nuance of sweet spices. Upon tasting, it manifests with refined tannins that achieve a velvety palate, accentuating a fruit-forward presence embraced by a delightful vivacity and meticulous balance, culminating in a lingering and delectable finish.
 
2013 Upon tasting, it reveals a refreshing profile, dominated by an array of red and black fruit flavors, complemented by well-rounded tannins.

It boasts a deep red hue with a hint of blue at the edges.

The bouquet is characterized by robust aromas of red and black fruits, accompanied by hints of licorice and subtle undertones of forest floor.
2011 Bulky and fresh attack. This red wine is very long, tasty and fleshy on the palate. It has a velvety texture, with juicy red and black fruit wrapped in creamy spices. Excellent acidity and ripe, solid tannins. Long and persistent finish which leaves toasted nuances, coffee and toffee lingering. A round wine to be enjoyed.

An intense picota cherry colour with violet reflections. Very clean and bright. Elegant and fine tears show on the glass.

High intensity, with aromas of red fruits intermixed with notes of aromatic herbs (bay leaves, rosemary) and nice creamy notes (vanilla, cream, toffee). Once opened out, it gains in complexity and expressiveness with lightly toasted notes, delicate floral ntoes and refreshing balsamic nuances. Priorat minerals noticed in the background.
2010 Fresh attack and a long, tasty, meaty and bulky mid palate. This wine shows a velvety texture and juicy notes of red and black fruit wrapped in creamy spicy notes. Its tannins are well integrated and it has an excellent acidity. Long and lingering finish that leaves an aftertaste of toasted coffee and toffee. A rounded and very enjoyable wine.

Intense red cherry colour with bluish reflections. Very clean and bright. Elegant tears.

Its intense notes of red fruit are mixed with notes of aromatic herbs (laurel and rosemary) and pleasant creamy notes of vanilla, cream and toffee. When it opens up, it gains in intensity and expressiveness and light toasted notes emerge along with its delicate and subtle floral hints and its refreshing balsamic background. A pleasure of a wine!
2009 Intense and enveloping attack and a long, tasty, fleshy, velvety and smooth mid palate. Its abundant notes of ripe fruit are released along with violets and elegant notes of woods. It shows a perfect acidity and ripe tannins. Excellent, long and persitent finish. A round wine that shows a more modern Priorat and that will be enjoy from the first sip.

Intense, bright cherry colour with violet edges. High robe and high-coloured tears.

This wine is a festival of red and black fruits released along with spicy notes (vanilla, nutmeg), tobacco and aromas of creamy pastries. It shows some hints of the slate soils from which it come from. When it opens up, the slate and mineral notes gain in intensity and expressiveness and the fragrant flower arômas (especially violets) are felt. A seductive nose.
