About Suertes del Marqués Medianías

Suertes del Marqués Medianías is a red wine from the Orotava Valley (Tenerife) that is made with the native varieties Listán Negro, Vijariego Negro and Tintilla and produced by the Suertes del Marqués family winery.

This winery, located in the north of the island of Tenerife, began to make its own wines in 2006 with a philosophy: of making wines with native varieties and with minimal intervention in the winery. Under the Valle de Orotava Denomination of Origin, Suertes del Marqués currently offers quality wines with a volcanic character.

The strains for Suertes del Marqués Medianías are between 10 and 100 years old. Located in areas at an altitude of 600 meters above sea level, the three native varieties Listán Negro, Vijariego Negro and Tintilla are planted using the braided cord system and are harvested manually at their optimum ripeness.

Suertes del Marqués Medianías is vinified in concrete vats at a controlled temperature with native yeasts, avoiding racking and using sulphites in very small quantities. This wine is aged for 8 months in 225 and 500 litre French oak barrels.

Suertes del Marqués Medianías is a red wine that carries with it the body and soul of the Orotava Valley.
2018

Suertes del Marqués Medianías 2018 is a concentrated red wine with aromas of ripe fruit, notes of dried herbs and hints of toast. On the palate it is powerful, spicy and full-bodied. An enveloping medium-bodied wine with present acidity and ripe tannins. The finish is lingering and mineral.
2017 Suertes del Marqués Medianías 2017 is a linear wine with black fruit and black pepper. On the palate it is fresh and spicy.
