About Termes

Termes is a red wine produced by the renowned Bodega Numanthia, a legendary winery of the D.O. Toro.

Termes is the youngest wine from the winery. It is a single-varietal made from Tinta de Toro grapes sourced from old vineyards aged between 30 to 50 years, planted at an altitude of 700m in tiny plots scattered across the municipalities of Valdefinjas and Toro, on the slopes of the Duero River. The harvest is carried out manually at the optimal point of ripeness, with a rigorous selection of bunches in the vineyard.

The production involved an 8-day fermentation at a controlled temperature of 26-28°C, with two daily punch-downs. Subsequently, a maceration with the skins was conducted, lasting 21 days, also applying gentle punch-downs.

After fermentation, Termes underwent an aging process of 16 months in new French oak barrels with rackings every 4 months.

2021

Termes Tinto 2021 is an intensely cherry-coloured red wine. On the nose, it reveals aromas of currants, cherries, and raspberries, accompanied by subtle floral and spicy notes. On the palate, it is vibrant and expansive, with an intensity and complexity that unfolds with each sip. Its finish is long and concentrated, leaving a lasting impression.                       
2020 Termes Tinto 2020 is an intense and deep wine. The nose reveals black fruits accompanied by notes of undergrowth and spice. On the palate it is lively and balanced. The fruit is reaffirmed on a background of toffee and cocoa with herbal touches (thyme, eucalyptus) that add freshness. A ripe, round red wine with elegant complexity and a long, expressive finish.
2019 is a profound wine that, on the nose, presents intense aromas of ripe red and black fruits, complemented by spicy and balsamic nuances. Its palate is expansive, exuberant, and concentrated, with an outstanding balance between fruit and oak. A robust and graceful red wine, lengthy and soothing.
2012 Termes is a robust wine on the palate, revealing a resurgence of fruity sensations. Notes of black cherries and plums are prominent. It boasts a vibrant acidity and astringent tannins, accompanied by a subtle bitterness. The finish is extended and lingering.

Visually, it exhibits an attractive, bright red hue with hints of violet reflections.

Olfactorily, it is a refreshing wine. Forest fruits such as blackberry and wild strawberry take center stage, complemented by nuances of oak aging and delicate scents of coffee, rosemary, cinnamon, and white pepper.
2008 This Toro wine expresses the typical rich and complex flavours of the variety Tinta de Toro. The aromatic expression does not stop and has a strong presence. Silky, velvety and vibrant mid palate. After a persistent, widespread and intense attack, hints of fruit reappear with great force accompanied of spicy notes, tobacco and toasty snuff. Long and complex, very persistent.

Intense cherry color with a purple trim. Bright and with legs that dye the glass.

Intense aromas of fresh fruit (red currant, cherry, raspberry) very well integrated with floral (violets, lavender) and soft spicy notes and a hint of eucalyptus.
