About Terra d'Uro Selección

Design Toro wine made of Tinta de Toro grapes from a unique terroir in which vines of different ages (from 15-year vines to pre-phylloxera vines aged of more than 140 years) were planted.
They are located in small properties that put together reach 7 hectares approximately, with about 900 vines per hectare.
Terra d'Uro Selección is only made in the years of good harvest. The whole process is conducted manually.
The grapes are manually harvested in small boxes and separated from the bunch manually. After fermentation in small tanks with daily pumpings, the wine undergoes a malolactic fermentation in new and second year barrels on its lees with a pumping every two days. Once completed, the wine is aged in barrels for a minimum of 16 months. It is clarified with egg white and it is bottled unfiltered.
Limited production.
It is recommended to aerate this wine two hours before serving it in order to appreciate its complexity better. It has a great ageing potential.
A powerful, very elegant and serious wine, with a high quality and character.
2016

Terra d'Uro Selección 2016 is an exemplary red wine. The bouquet reveals red berries, mushrooms, black walnuts, and a hint of violet (a distinctive trait of these wines). On the palate, it is well-structured, with smooth tannins and a rich chocolate flavor. The finish is exceptionally succulent.
2008 Powerful, intense and embracing attack. Long, and very embracing, full-bodied mid palate with a velvety texture and full of fleshy notes of fruit, mineral notes and very balanced cedar aromas. It has an excellent acidity well integrated noble tannins and a very long and very persistent finish.

Intense cherry colour with a medium-high robe. Bright wine with elegant tears.

Powerful and complex wine, with intense notes of ripe red and black fruit perfectly balanced with the smoked and toasted aromas provided by the wood. Gradually, the hints of cocoa, black liquorice, fresh balsamic aromas and mediteranean herbs (rosemary, thyme) are released along with notes of spices with a light creamy touch. In the background, an important mineralilty is noticed, with hints of stone and earth.
