About Veuve Clicquot Vintage Brut

Jeanne-Antoinette Poisson, better known as Madame de Pompadour, was a highly renowned French courtesan and the mistress of King Louis XV. Her saying “champagne is the only wine that allows a woman to remain beautiful after drinking it” established her as the number one fan of this sparkling wine. However, she was not alone in her admiration. Following the French Revolution, another woman earned the title "The Grand Dame of Champagne." Madame Cliquot, an entrepreneurial and visionary woman, took control of her husband's business at the age of 28 after becoming widowed and became fixated on producing high-quality champagne. She was the first businesswoman of the modern era and transformed a small winery in Reims into an empire by incorporating the technique of remuage, crafting the first vintage champagne, and creating the first label.

Sourced from exclusive grapes of 21 Grands and Premiers Crus, her sparkling wine Veuve Clicquot Vintage Brut is primarily composed of the Pinot Noir variety, with contributions from Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier. Once the wines are vinified, a blend is made with 11% of wines aged in foudres, and after undergoing a second fermentation in the bottle and spending 60 months in the cellar, disgorgement is carried out with a dosage of 8 grams per litre.

With its unmistakable yellow label, Veuve Clicquot Vintage Brut is a long-aged champagne that lives up to the brand's reputation. Glamour, elegance, and refinement in equal measure.

2012

Veuve Clicquot Vintage 2012 is a sumptuously creamy sparkling wine, redolent with scents of stone fruit, nuances of dried fruit, and sweetly spiced undertones. On the palate, it is vibrant, forthright, and full-bodied. This champagne entices with flavors of fruit, toasted notes, and sophisticated hints of patisserie.

2004 The wine is silky and generous. The complexity is amazing, evoking at once floral and fruity notes, minerals and spices, menthol and toasted. The duration is very long and powerful

Pale gold with silver accents. Bright and dynamic and lasting effervescence.

Is open, pure and complex. The Chardonnay gives the wine a refined mineral flavor, with floral notes of acacia. With more aeration reveals aromas of yellow fruit and brioche. Finally, there are notes of spice, licorice and tea.
