In the heart of Rioja, stories lie dormant for decades in silent barrels, awaiting the precise moment to be retold. Viña Monty Blanco Viura Reserva is one such legend that slowly awakens, like a gentle voice that leaves an impression from the very first sip.
 
Bodegas Montecillo, the third oldest in Rioja, has been crafting the narrative of a wine-breathing land with patience and expertise for over 150 years. Since 1870, their philosophy of vineyard respect, consistent vinification, and unhurried ageing in subterranean cellars (wineries carved into rock underground) has shaped wines that are genuine witnesses to the passage of time and Riojan tradition.
 
Viña Monty Blanco Viura Reserva, crafted entirely from Viura grapes from high-altitude vineyards in the Sotés (Rioja Alta) area, is a brilliant example of the DOCa. Rioja's potential to create age-worthy white wines. Fermented in ovoid tanks and aged for 18 months in French oak barrels, its expressiveness is enhanced by an additional bottle ageing of over 20 months.
 
The result is a white wine with enveloping aromas, a creamy, balanced palate, and a long finish, inviting the uncorking of special moments: a dinner by soft light, an unhurried conversation, or a pairing with oily fish, poultry, or matured cheeses. A wine not to be rushed, but savoured with attention, as it is part of the living legacy of a great Riojan winery.
