About Viña Zorzal Golerga

Viña Zorzal, a distinguished winery known for high-quality Navarre wines, has made the bird on its labels renowned worldwide through its successful ventures. Now, the Sanz family embarks on creating their first village wine with the assistance of Gonzalo Ibarrola Intxusta, a vintner based in the village of Lerga, who is a staunch advocate of Navarre garnacha. This unique initiative, mindful of climate change, seeks out plots with greater latitude, altitude, and rainfall.

Hailing from one of the world's most refreshing historic sites for garnacha, Viña Zorzal Golerga is a red wine sourced from 12 hectares of old garnacha vines, situated in the heart of the lower mountains. Traditional farming methods are employed, and the harvest is conducted manually at the optimal point of ripeness. Once Gonzalo's work in the vineyard is complete, the grapes become the responsibility of Viña Zorzal. Initially, a selection of the grapes is made to ferment in concrete vats with native yeasts, followed by maturation in used French oak barrels and concrete tanks.

Thus, with the triumphant cry of "Go, Go Lerga!" Viña Zorzal Golerga emerges as the first village wine from the Navarre winery. A fresh and light garnacha that unmistakably demonstrates why the little bird label finds its way into every household.
