About Can Descregut Vinomi

In the Penedès, Marc Milà and Arantxa De Cara have achieved something remarkable: reviving an essential part of local viticulture, respecting the land and ancestral practices to bring to life an authentic wine crafted from unique varieties. Their project is grounded in a steadfast commitment to the land, promoting biodiversity and preserving the purity of the environment.

Can Descregut Vinomi is a tribute to the history of Penedès, crafted from two indigenous varieties: xarel·lo and xarel·lo vermell. The latter is a very rare ancient mutation at risk of extinction, which Marc and Arantxa have rescued in their vineyards. Vines over 40 years old, planted in gypsum-rich soils and cultivated under ecological principles.

Regarding its production, the magic continues in the winery. After a brief cold skin maceration to extract the most intense aromas from the skins, especially from the xarel·lo vermell, the must undergoes static clarification at 16°C, and then ferments in stainless steel tanks. To add complexity, a portion of the wine rests on its own lees, imparting a smooth texture and a more rounded character.

The result is Can Descregut Vinomi, a wine that encapsulates the essence of Penedès. A fresh wine, with floral and citrus aromas, and a mineral touch that expresses the authenticity of the terroir. A reflection of the effort to reclaim the best of the winemaking tradition of a wine region with a long history, while ensuring its sustainability and future.
