About Alma de Luzón

Alma de Luzón is a red wine from the D.O. Jumilla produced by the Luzón winery. This wine is a blend of 3 different grape varieties: Monastrell (70%). Cabernet Sauvignon (20%) and Syrah (10%).

The grapes used to make Alma de Luzón come from vineyards owned by the winery. These vineyards are over 50 years old and are located at around 650 metres above sea level.

The harvest is carried out manually. The grapes are then transported to the winery in small boxes with a 10-15kg capacity to avoid the grapes breaking prematurely before their arrival. 

At the winery, the grapes pass through a selection table. Following this, the grapes undergo the various stages of the winemaking process. The grapes ferment for 10 days at a constant and controlled temperature of 28-30ºC. Before the final ageing process, Alma de Luzón undergoes maceration for 2-3 weeks with ths skins still intact.

Finally Alma de Luzón ages for 22months in oak barreks, 60& frech 40% american.

Luzón is one of the most important wineires in the D.O Jumilla. Across their 500 hectares of land, Luzón grows all of the grapes for the products, mainly the Monastrell variety. 

2020

Alma de Luzón 2020 is a captivating red wine. On the nose, it stands out for its intense and complex aromas, featuring notes of red and black fruits, alongside spicy nuances and subtle smokiness, a result of its ageing. On the palate, it is succulent and balanced, with a vibrant freshness that accentuates its unique character and typicity. With great ageing potential, this modern wine, full of personality, offers a complete experience.
2019

Alma de Luzón 2019 is a richly concentrated red, boasting a deep cherry hue, the result of a particularly distinctive blend. Olfactorily, it is exceptionally expressive and robust, exuding scents of red and black fruits, spices, and smoky nuances. On the palate, it is deliciously flavorsome, showcasing remarkable balance.
2009 Well-structured and flavorsome, boasting excellent tannins with a subtle fruity undertone. It exudes elegance, showcasing notable minerality and lingering on the palate.

Cherry red with garnet highlights.

Spiced notes and complex nuances of dark fruit. Hints of toast and mineral undertones.
