About Altos de Luzón

Altos de Luzón is a red wine from the Jumilla region. Produced by the Luzón Winery with the grape variety Monastrell.

The grapes that make up this wine belong to the winery and are around 650 metres above sea level.

The harvest is carried out carefully by hand, treating the fruit with great care. On arrival to the winery, the grapes pass through a selection table, where only those in the best condition are selected to make the wine.

The grapes are fermented and, depending on the type of grape, macerate with the skin for over 2 weeks at a constant temperature of 28 degrees. Before being bottled, the wine is then aged in French and American oak barrels for a year.

Lúzon is a winery that was founded in 2000, although its origens date back to 1916, when several local growers and winemakers decided to collaborate and join forces.

 

2019

Altos de Luzon 2019 is a very interesting red wine. The nose is very attractive, with notes of berries and chocolate. On the palate it is medium-bodied. Persistent finish. 
2010 Indulgently sweet and imbued with a mineral essence, this wine is graced with alluringly mature tannins. It exhibits a commendable acidity and an exquisite sense of balance.

It presents a garnet hue accented with purple reflections.

The bouquet is redolent with spicy undertones and the scent of ripe fruit. Nuances of cocoa, plum, and vanilla are discernible, a testament to its aging in the barrel.
