As one of Tuscany's most prominent wine producers, Avignonesi stands out as a project deeply committed to organic farming and fair trade. So much so that it has held the coveted "Robert Parker Green Emblem" label since 2022, a certification awarded by the prestigious wine publication "The Wine Advocate" only to producers dedicated to sustainability. Thus, Avignonesi not only supports local suppliers, promotes biodiversity, and works organically, but also opts for renewable resources such as lighter bottles, biodegradable closures, and 100% recyclable boxes. With nearly 200 hectares of vineyards spread across the Montepulciano and Cortona areas, they offer a diverse range of soils and an extensive portfolio of fine wines representing the rich and wonderful Tuscany.
This is how they present Avignonesi Cantaloro Rosso Toscana, a blend of merlot, sangiovese, and cabernet sauvignon varieties grown on the estate using biodynamic practices. No herbicides, pesticides, or chemical fertilizers are used, and efforts are made to maintain the biodiversity of the flora and fauna. In the winery, the pre-selected and destemmed grapes macerate with skins at a controlled temperature for 15-18 days. Alcoholic fermentation is carried out with selected pied de cuve yeasts, and finally, the wine ages for a minimum of 18 months in oak barrels and stainless steel tanks.
Part of the IGP Rosso Toscana, Avignonesi Cantaloro Rosso Toscana not only embodies the rich winemaking heritage of southern Tuscany but also represents a profoundly sustainable approach. Each bottle reflects Avignonesi's commitment to tradition, quality, and environmental responsibility.
