About Avignonesi Rosso di Montepulciano

Projects that produce wines with sustainable and biodynamic practices that perfectly reflect the terroir while protecting our environment and our health. In Tuscany, in Montepulciano, we find the largest biodynamic winery in Italy. With over 170 hectares of fully certified vineyards, Avignonesi offers a wide portfolio of wines that authentically express the terroir of Montepulciano while fiercely protecting local biodiversity.

One of their most representative wines, Avignonesi Rosso di Montepulciano, is made with the region's flagship variety sangiovese with a small addition of colorino. Vines cultivated on the estate under the guidance of its owner Virginie Saverys, who firmly believes in organic products and homeopathic medicine. In the winery, the selected and destemmed grapes ferment with yeasts chosen by the winery itself. A maceration with skins takes place for approximately 8-12 days with daily pump-overs, and finally, it ages for 6 months in oak barrels.

Convinced that there are no great wines without good grapes, Avignonesi Rosso di Montepulciano is a wine that perfectly reflects the nature of the terroir. A DOC Rosso di Montepulciano that stands out for its authenticity and purity, without harming the planet.

 

2021

Avignonesi Rosso di Montepulciano 2021 is a red wine with a striking ruby hue. On the nose, it stands out with fresh notes of strawberry, blackberry, and blueberry, complemented by hints of wild myrtle and black cherry. On the palate, it is juicy and its flavour gradually intensifies. Its tannic structure is delicate and smooth, leaving a generous aftertaste of cherry. It is a fruity wine with a fluid profile that is highly enjoyable.
