About Baigorri Belus

Baigorri consistently amazes us with each of their bottles. Yet with Baigorri Belus, they have truly outdone themselves!
 
The exquisite blend of graciano, garnacha, and tempranillo makes this red wine one you simply cannot miss. Indeed, few bottles capture the character imparted by the old vines, over 50 years old, thriving at approximately 600 metres above sea level on extremely poor clay-iron soils. 
 
At Baigorri, all tasks are performed manually, including the harvest, thereby ensuring the optimal condition of the grapes throughout the entire production process. The quality is maintained at the highest level in all Baigorri wines; however, in the case of Baigorri Belus, the grapes are meticulously selected in the vineyard, one by one, berry by berry. This selection process is repeated within the winery itself, on a sorting table, before the grapes are destemmed and crushed. Before fermentation, Baigorri Belus undergoes a maceration where the skins are kept in contact with the must for several days. Finally, Baigorri Belus begins to ferment and, following the alcoholic fermentation, undergoes malolactic fermentation in new French oak barrels.

2016

Baigorri Belus 2016 is a robust red wine. The bouquet reveals a velvety and intensely fruity character, with hints of dark berries and an underlying balsamic nuance. On the palate, it is warm, embracing, and well-structured. The tannins are ripe. It possesses a formidable intensity.
2009

The taste is round, smooth, friendly, with polished tannins and good acidity.

Very elegant and persistent, with hints of red fruit on the finish.



A cherry red colour.



The nose shows great intensity. Red fruits with black olives, liquorice and some floral notes.
2008 In the mouth this wine shows good attack. It is wide and rounded with ripe and supple tannins. Very good acidity giving it structure. Good weight in mouth and a very pleasant slightly bitter finish. This red wine has good length. Aftertaste of red fruit and roasted notes.

Picota cherry colour with violet hues. Clean and bright. Fine, delicate, pretty, even tears stain the glass.

Clean and highly intense in the nose. Aromas of ripe, jammy, red fruits and liquorice with mildly spicy touches of cinnamon, vanilla and cloves. Some floral notes and pleasant toasted nuances.
