About Barahonda Crianza

Barahonda Crianza is a red wine from the D.O. Yecla produced by the Barahonda winery. This wine is a blend of 3 different grape varieties: Monastrell, Syrah and Petit Verdot.

The grapes used for Barahonda Crianza come from vines of varying ages. The Monastrell grapes come from vines that are over 50 years old. The Syrah and Petit Verlot varieties however, come from vines that are between 20-25 years old.

The vineyards are situated in an area that is home to a continental climate: the winters, therefore, are cold, sometimes even dropping before freezing, while the summers are usually very hot and dry.

The harvest and various phases of the winemaking processes are carried out usually traditional methods. Barahonda Crianza, before being bottled and marketed, is aged for around 12 months in French and American oak barrels.

Barahonda one of the most important wineries in the D.O Yecla region. It is home to 150 hectares of vineyards, while an adittion 600 hectares are overseen by the winery´s technical staff.
