Wines for beginners
They say it is impossible to turn down something nice and, with this premise in mind, we can assure you that, to get started in the world of wine, it is important to start with the ones with simple and pleasant flavours, uncomplicated wines that everyone likes!

If you are just starting to discover the wonderful world of wine and you don’t know where to start. If you find it so difficult to choose and to buy a bottle from the many that are available, here are some simple tips to make your introduction as delicious and simple as possible. Sound good?
White wines
Young white wines are perfect for beginners in the world of wine. There are many white varieties that produce aromatic and fruity wines, with moderate acidity, which together with being served at a low temperature provide a good introduction to wine and its flavours. Try to choose young wines that have not been aged in oak barrels and are made from the following varieties: Verdejo, Albariño, Chardonnay and Muscat of Alexandria.
Barco del Corneta Cucú

Barco del Corneta Cucú is one of those wines that captivates you from the first sip. A white wine that breaks away from the more commercial circuit of the Verdejo variety to offer us its most sincere and authentic side. So kind and versatile that you won't want it to ever end! Fortunately, it's a little gem that offers us delicious flavor and high quality at a price practically suitable for any budget, ideal for beginners in the world of white wines.

Cullerot is a white wine that you will surely appreciate having discovered, as it will introduce you to Celler del Roure, a winery that is generating a lot of interest thanks to the quality and originality of its wines. So much so that it has even captivated the most discerning palates, consistently receiving high ratings from tasters such as Parker. Cullerot is deep and balanced, fresh and flavorful. You won't tire of repeating it!
Rosé wines
A good step before full immersion into red wines is to sample the seductive world of rosé wines. Contrary to popular belief, they are not sweet wines, but their delicious youth and fruitiness offer a more pleasant introduction than some reds. With rosé wines you will find the best of two worlds: the vibrant freshness of white wines and the delicious fruit and character of red wines.
Roselito

Crafted by Bertrand Sourdais, a French winemaker who produces wines in Ribera del Duero and AOC Chinon (Loire), Roselito is a vibrant and fresh wine that captures the character of Ribera del Duero's two emblematic grapes, Tinta Fina (red grape) and Albillo (white grape), dressing them with the much imitated delicacy and elegance that characterizes Provence rosés. An ideal wine for warm weather and perfect for any occasion.
Enate Rosado
If you want to take a step further and gradually approach the universe of red wines, try Enate Rosado, a true classic that never goes out of style. A rosé wine with a beautiful raspberry color, featuring the character of the Cabernet Sauvignon variety, very balanced, fruity, and highly versatile for pairing.
Red wines
They say that there are about 1300 different varieties of wine, so we completely understand how difficult it is to choose young red wines that are perfect for beginners. A good way to choose from such a wide range is to search by variety.
What do Monastrell, Grenache, Zinfandel, Carménère and Shiraz (Australian Syrah) grapes have in common? According to Madeline Puckett, better known by the name of her website, “Wine Folly”, who really knows her stuff, these grapes offer excellent wines for beginners, because they have easily identifiable fruit flavours, a wide range of flavour intensity and there are some excellent wines at very reasonable prices. It is also very easy to find single-variety wines made with these grapes, which is a perfect way to start learning about wines.
You could try to follow this progression suggested by Wine Folly to get used to more intensity and complexity.
Spanish Grenache wines offer moderate acidity. The Zinfandel variety teaches us how to taste the alcohol and how it influences the flavours of the wine. An Australian Shiraz shows us what a delicious full-bodied wine is, while Spanish single-variety Monastrell wines allow us to savour the essence of Old World wines. And the Carménère variety introduces us to red wines with herbaceous notes (Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc) but in a pleasant way, thanks to its delicious flavours of cherries and plums.
Frontonio Microcósmico Garnacha
Master of Wine Fernando Mora is the creator of Frontonio, a young winery that has come to break paradigms where Grenache takes a leading role. Frontonio Microcósmico Garnacha is made from the fruit of old Grenache vines and captures the most authentic character of this variety. A juicy, well-balanced wine of excellent quality that proves to be utterly charming.
Casa Castillo Monastrell
Casa Castillo is the first winery in the Spanish Mediterranean to achieve the coveted 100 Parker points. Their wines are crafted with masterful handling, primarily of the Monastrell variety. Casa Castillo Monastrell is their entry-level wine. A red with an unbeatable quality-price ratio, which in its 2021 vintage scored 93 Parker points. Juicy, with well-integrated acidity that brings freshness and harmoniously accompanies its delicious ripe fruit flavours.
