About Bott Condrieu

Awards are not essential, yet when they acknowledge a job well done, they are always celebrated. Graeme and Julie Bott were honoured with the “Winemakers & Terroirs of the Future” award by Groupe AdVini in collaboration with the Fondation Montpellier SupAgro, a recognition that highlights their innovative approach and dedication to preserving and expressing the identity of the Rhône Valley terroir. However, beyond the accolade, their true motivation lies in honouring the terroir and producing wines that are a faithful reflection of the landscape that inspires them.

The Bott philosophy is simple: less is more. They prefer to produce small quantities of wine, meticulously crafted to capture the essence of the soil and climate of each plot. Their vines flourish on clay-limestone slopes under a temperate Mediterranean climate, ideal conditions for achieving optimal ripeness and exceptional aromatic concentration. Each cluster is tended with precision, and sustainable, environmentally friendly viticulture is the foundation of all their work.

Bott Condrieu embodies this philosophy in every detail. The grapes are hand-selected and vinified in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, preserving the freshness and delicate aromas of the Viognier. Ageing on fine lees enhances the texture and adds complexity, resulting in an elegant wine, with floral and fruity notes, a velvety texture, and a balanced acidity that imparts length and freshness.
