About Domaine de Pallus Cabernet Franc

If there is someone who truly comprehends the soul of a wine, it is Bertrand Sourdais. Born and raised amidst vineyards in Chinon, nestled in the heart of the Loire Valley, this French oenologist seems to have been born with cabernet franc coursing through his veins. Yet, his story extends far beyond the slopes of the Loire.

Bertrand is a fifth-generation winemaker in his family and, as a true wine enthusiast, honed his skills in the major leagues: Bordeaux (Château Léoville Las Cases and Mouton Rothschild) and Pomerol. He then crossed the Pyrenees, collaborated with Álvaro Palacios in Priorat, and ultimately discovered his dream haven in Soria, where he established Dominio de Es and Bodegas Antídoto.

However, no matter how much he cherishes the Soria Ribera del Duero, Bertrand has never severed the thread that ties him to his roots in Chinon. At Domaine de Pallus, he continues to craft cabernet francs that speak softly... yet convey a great deal.

His Domaine de Pallus Cabernet Franc is sheer elegance with character. Crafted from biodynamically cultivated cabernet franc grapes from his young vines, set upon sandy and limestone hills, this wine is the culmination of meticulous work deeply respectful of nature. Fermented with indigenous yeasts after a brief maceration, and aged for 6 months in used barrels, this red wine exudes serenity, precision, and authenticity.

Domaine de Pallus Cabernet Franc not only mirrors the land from which it originates but also the wise hand of its creator: Bertrand Sourdais, the vigneron who masterfully transformed heritage into bottled emotion.
