About Dominio de Atauta Dos Fincas

At the summit of the Atauta Valley, where rock and sun intertwine with centuries of winemaking history, emerges a wine that captures the essence of its land with almost poetic precision. Dominio de Atauta Dos Fincas is born from the union of two unique terroirs —La Roza Grande and San Juan Valle—, where ancient vines rise to 940 metres, embracing clay soils over decomposed limestone and a continental climate with Mediterranean traits. Each cluster is treated with utmost care, hand-harvested, selected through a double sorting table, gravity-fed into tanks, and fermented following the biodynamic calendar to preserve the grape's purity and the character of its origin.

Dominio de Atauta, a winery located in the Atauta region (Soria, Spain), with over five centuries of winemaking heritage, blends tradition with contemporary rigour under the guidance of Ismael Sanz and Jaime Suárez, who work with passion and respect for each vineyard. It is built upon rock, on a hillside of the valley, striving to maintain the natural balance and express the uniqueness of each plot, honouring the legacy of Atauta and its architectural harmony that still retains the essence of the region.

Dominio de Atauta Dos Fincas is an elegant and delicate wine, the result of the conjunction of its two most distinctive plots. After 22 months of barrel ageing (15% new), it retains a unique personality, with intense aromas of ripe red fruit. On the palate, its fine and silky tannins unfold with an elegant body, allowing the freshness and depth of its ancient vines to be felt, in a balance that is both delicate and powerful.
