About Dominio de Atauta Valdegatiles

The winery Dominio de Atauta, founded in 1999, is located in the Atauta Valley, in the province of Soria, within Ribera del Duero, at 1,000 m over the sea level. This winery was built on the rock in four heights, taking advantage of gravity and avoiding an innecessary use of pumps. After the manual harvested, the grapes enter the winery by the highest floor from which they are drop into the deposits located in the lower floor. In the third level, there is the barrel room, and in the lowest one, there is the cave.
Valdegatiles is a varietal wine made of Tinta Fina from the property Pago de Valdegatiles, a small vineyard of 1.7 ha, with pre phyloxera vines. This wine is aged for 19 month in French oak barrels. It is recommended to decant this wine before tasting it.

2017

Dominio de Atauta Valdegatiles 2017 dazzles with its power and maturity, reflecting the uniqueness of its small plots in the heart of the Valdegatiles area. This red wine impresses with its profound structure and full body. On the nose, it offers an intoxicating blend of ripe plums and blackberries, nuanced with delicate notes of herbs such as rosemary and subtle hints of dried fruits. Its careful ageing, in 100% used barrels, results in a perfect integration of the wood. With a character distinguished by abundant yet well-balanced tannins, it promises to evolve beautifully in the bottle. The 2017 vintage is presented with an especially long-lasting character, limited to 1,476 numbered bottles, making this wine a gem for wine enthusiasts in search of authenticity and exclusivity.
2007 This is a powerful, elegant and complex red wine. In the mouth, lots of fruit is also noticed along with its refined tannins, its good acidity. Very long and persistent.

Intense, clean and brigh dark cherry red colour.

Medium-high intensity aromas, with a considerable fruit expression reminiscent of ripe black fruit notes. Its balsamic notes share the terrain with the aromas of wood, cocoa and a mineral background.
