About Fazenda Agricola Augalevada Eiravedra

Iago Garrido y Liliana Fernández met while studying agricultural engineering at the university of Ourense. Their joint project, Fazenda Agrícola Augalevada, runs parallel to their love story: a love for each other and a profound respect for the land they cultivate. Augalevada is notably the first certified biodynamic winery in the D.O. Ribeiro (Galicia).
 
The winery is situated in an idyllic setting, divided by a river once called Augaleva by the ancient inhabitants of the area. Here, this Fazenda Agrícola is seamlessly integrated into the environment, prioritising the cultivation and preservation of the region's most extensive indigenous varieties.
 
Fazenda Agrícola Augalevada Eiravedra is a white wine made from the albariño variety, sourced from a plot in the Salnés Valley where a 60-year-old vineyard thrives on decomposed granite soils. The wine ferments and matures in barrels and contains a very low amount of sulphur, like all wines crafted by Iago and Liliana.
 
Cultivating this unique vineyard under biodynamic principles allows for the preservation and expression of all the characteristics offered by such a special soil, climate, and environment, resulting in a white wine with an ethereal and mature character. An albariño profile with a distinctive personality; a delightful surprise that has managed to captivate the most discerning palates. Very few bottles are produced, so one should not miss the opportunity to taste it.
