About Feudi di San Gregorio Cutizzi Greco di Tufo Riserva

Feudi di San Gregorio Cutizzi Greco di Tufo Riserva is an exceptional white wine. And that’s not just our opinion, but the endorsement of the D.O.C.G. Greco di Tufo that certifies this wine. Specifically, since 2003, both the small town of Tufo and the eight communes in the northwest of Campania (in southern Italy) have been able to boast high-quality productions and aromas based on the greco grape, a native variety of the area. Therefore, it was inevitable that the winery Feudi di San Gregorio would have a single-varietal wine made from this grape among its offerings. Hence, Feudi di San Gregorio Cutizzi Greco di Tufo Riserva was born.

Fundamental to this story are both the volcanic soils—typical of areas located at the foot of the Apennines—and the Mediterranean climate, with hot summers and mild winters. Here, the vineyards are planted on the mountain slopes—between 400 and 700 meters in altitude in the case of Feudi di San Gregorio—also exposed to sea breezes. This helps to moderate the high temperatures and soften the cold winters, ensuring that the grape ripens correctly with excellent quality. In the case of Feudi di San Gregorio Cutizzi Greco di Tufo Riserva, the grapes come from Cutizzi, one of the 8-hectare vineyards that the winery owns in the area.

Regarding its vinification, Feudi di San Gregorio Cutizzi Greco di Tufo Riserva is a wine that is entirely produced in stainless steel tanks where it undergoes fermentation (at a controlled temperature between 16°C and 18°C) and will age on its lees for about four or five months. During this time, very regular battonages will be carried out to round out both its taste and aroma. Finally, Feudi di San Gregorio Cutizzi Greco di Tufo Riserva will spend a few months in the bottle before being released for sale.

Feudi di San Gregorio Cutizzi Greco di Tufo Riserva belongs to the Selezioni collection, a line launched by the winery to showcase the best expressions of the soils and grape varieties of Campania.
