Marl, clay, and limestone are the three types of soil on which Grandes Lindes de Remelluri Viñedos de Ábalos emerges, a red wine made from Garnacha and Tempranillo that will linger in your thoughts.
 
The mastermind behind this marvel is the enologist Telmo Rodríguez, who has embarked on the Grandes Lindes project with a very clear goal: to revive the small vineyards of the DOCa. Rioja. In the past, this designation boasted a large number of plots and small winegrowers, with incredible richness and character, but they were difficult to work and not very profitable. Many winegrowers disposed of them, but some still preserve them, like the 1.12 hectares located in the municipality of Ábalos, specifically in the Armentari area, where Grandes Lindes de Remelluri Viñedos de Ábalos is cultivated. The vines are old, over 70 years, and are situated between 494 and 528 meters above sea level.
 
The harvest is conducted manually, in boxes, and the fermentations are natural and spontaneous, using native yeasts, in wooden vats. Finally, Grandes Lindes de Remelluri Viñedos de Ábalos rests for over a year in barrels and foudres of varying sizes until the red wine is fully ready for bottling and sale.
