Granja Remelluri Gran Reserva 2016 epitomises the serene elegance of Rioja at its finest: a wine that seamlessly blends tradition and modernity with natural sophistication. On the nose, it unveils profound aromas of ripe black fruit, lavender, and fennel, enveloped in delicate menthol notes. On the palate, it is expansive and silky, with velvety tannins and a vibrant acidity that upholds its impeccable structure. Its finish, long and balsamic, leaves a trace of calm and nobility, akin to a sunset over the vineyards from which it was born.

About La Granja Remelluri Gran Reserva

Every year, as is now customary, the American magazine Wine Spectator publishes its list of the world's top 100 wines, compiled from blind tastings conducted by the editors. Among these, where over 10,200 wines are sampled, some Spanish wines stand out, such as Granja Remelluri Gran Reserva, a red wine born from an exceptional vintage.
 
One is not always fortunate enough to encounter a wine like Granja Remelluri Gran Reserva. Only the finest vintages are deemed suitable for crafting this red, a blend of garnacha, tempranillo, graciano, and other red varieties, cultivated in Remelluri's own vineyards. These plots, situated at altitudes between 680 and 780 metres, are located in the municipalities of Labastida and San Vicente de la Sonsierra, where clay and limestone soils are abundant. In this setting, arranged in terraces of varying heights, cultivation is entirely organic, with tasks performed by hand and always respecting local tradition.
 
Granja Remelluri Gran Reserva is harvested in boxes and taken to the winery where the bunches are selected and processed. Once the grape must is obtained, Granja Remelluri Gran Reserva is transferred to wooden vats where it ferments spontaneously with indigenous yeasts. Finally, Granja Remelluri Gran Reserva is racked, pressed, and transferred again to barrels and foudres where it will rest for approximately 25 months.

2016

2015 Granja Remelluri Gran Reserva 2015 is a fleshy and seductive red wine. Ripe fruit notes appear on the nose, nuanced with a pleasant touch of vanilla and accompanied by roasted aromas with hints of leather and cigar boxes. The palate is velvety and voluptuous, with an elegant rhythm and precise acidity that adds freshness. A round, well-structured wine, with a long mouthfeel and a never-ending finish. Made only in extraordinary vintages, this is an incredible Rioja red wine.
2011

Granja Remelluri Gran Reserva 2011 is an opulent red wine boasting a sumptuous bouquet of ripe black fruits, hints of lavender and fennel, complemented by refreshing menthol nuances. On the palate, it is full-bodied, silky, and exceedingly enveloping. A medium-bodied wine with velvety tannins, pronounced acidity, and a seamlessly structured profile. The finish is extensive, lingering, and profoundly balsamic.
2005 Such as in the nose, in the palate, this red wine is simply elegant. It has a mellow and structured mid palate, with a good acidity and ripe and sweet tannins. A round and balanced crispy wine with a long and very persistent finish.  A great wine from Rioja.

Beautiful cherry colour with ruby red edges. Clean and bright wine with abundant thin, elegant tears.

Very elegant nasal aromas, with a good intensity, in which a nice balance is noticed. Its toasted and spicy aromas, its hints of undergrowth and aromatic herbs are released along with intense notes of fleshy, ripe red fruit with a touch of liquor, hints of leather and complex but expressive balsamic aromas.
