Grandes Lindes de Remelluri Viñedos de Peciña 2020 captivates with its deep cherry-red hue, reflecting its concentrated character at first glance. About Grandes Lindes de Remelluri Viñedos de Peciña

Traditionally, the DOCa. Rioja was composed of small vineyards, challenging to cultivate and with low yields, yet of unparalleled quality. However, the low price paid for the grapes, combined with the drive to produce large quantities of wine, forced many small vintners to sell their properties. Fortunately, others persevered, and it is with them that Telmo Rodríguez collaborates on his Grandes Lindes project, striving to revive those authentic and charming wines.
 
One such wine is Grandes Lindes de Remelluri Viñedos de Peciña, a red composed of tempranillo and garnacha, which, as its name suggests, is cultivated in Peciña, a hamlet of San Vicente de la Sonsierra. Specifically, it originates from a small vineyard of 0.98 hectares located in the La Canonca area, with old vines over 52 years of age planted at an altitude between 637 and 672 metres. The soils in this region are cool, calcareous, and stony, due to significant erosion of the bedrock. Here, work is performed as it always has been, in an artisanal manner, with manual harvesting in boxes and natural fermentations with native yeasts in wooden vats. This process is followed by a year in barrels and foudres of varying sizes.
