About Grandes Lindes de Remelluri Viñedos de Rivas de Tereso

Recognised for his daring approach and his passion for the lesser-explored Spanish terroirs, Telmo Rodríguez does not settle for the conventional. Each of his projects is a journey, a quest to express the profound identity of the land and to tell stories that seemed forgotten. His project, Lindes de Remelluri, is a love letter to the vineyards, the tradition, the landscape, and the winegrowers of La Rioja.

Founded in 2010, Lindes de Remelluri arises from Telmo's desire to showcase how Rioja was before the industrialisation of wine. As Telmo himself states, "in Rioja, in 1680 there were three hundred and thirty harvesters in Labastida and more than two hundred underground wineries: the entire village was vineyard." This gaze into the past propels a project that combines memory, terroir, and authenticity in every bottle.

One of the most distinctive vineyards of Lindes de Remelluri is located in Rivas de Tereso, a tiny hamlet in San Vicente de la Sonsierra with barely 30 inhabitants. Its vines, which rise between 634 and 702 metres above sea level, span 4.9 hectares and bear witness to the power of high-altitude garnacha. Telmo speaks of these vines as if they were people: "They are garnachas with which you can feel the mountain in the fruit," he says, and upon tasting the wine, it is impossible not to understand.

Grandes Lindes de Remelluri Viñedos de Rivas de Tereso is the living expression of this historic vineyard. Tempranillo, garnacha, and small proportions of other varieties are blended to reflect the complexity of the land and the diversity of its vines, which range from 30 to 90 years old. The clay-limestone soils, peppered with stones from the bedrock debris, impart minerality and structure, while the manual harvest in boxes ensures that only fruit in perfect condition reaches the winery. After fermentation, the wine rests for 12 months in barrels of various volumes, completing a process where patience and delicacy are evident in every sip.
