Striking, explosive, energetic, provocative. "Cherry Bomb" is not merely a name: it's a full-fledged statement of intent. A wine that bursts forth with vigour, boasting a youthful and audacious style that disarms, yet simultaneously rests on a foundation of classical expertise and profound respect for the land.
Behind this red bombshell is Judith Beck, an oenologist with wine coursing through her veins. Having honed her skills in viniculture and gained experience in legendary wineries of Bordeaux, Piedmont, and even Chile, she returned to the family estate in Burgenland (Austria) with a clear vision: to unite nature and wine in a single language. Since 2004, she has spearheaded the project, championing biodynamics, manual harvesting, and a minimalist philosophy in the winery. Less artifice, more authenticity.
Judith Beck Cherry Bomb is a single-varietal zweigelt whose vineyards stretch across the slopes of Goldberg and Obere Breite in Gols, Burgenland (Austria). Twenty-five-year-old vines, planted with nearly extreme density (7,000 plants per hectare) on sandy-loam soils with layers of limestone. A combination that bestows the wine with freshness, verve, and minerality.
The harvest is conducted manually at the optimal moment of ripeness. Fermentation begins spontaneously, with a semi-carbonic maceration of four days alongside skins and stems, imparting that wild touch that aligns with the "Cherry Bomb" spirit. Following malolactic fermentation, the wine rests for 10 months in large used blaufränkisch barrels, ultimately bottled unfiltered, as is, without embellishment.
Judith Beck Cherry Bomb erupts with juicy red fruit, electrifying freshness, and an elegant mineral undertone. Rebellious yet balanced, vibrant yet profound. A true cherry bomb ready to detonate.
