About Judith Beck Zweigelt
Judith Beck Zweigelt is a biodynamic red wine made in Weinland Österreich (Burgenland) by Judith Beck with the native Zweigelt variety.
This winery was founded in 1976 by Matthias and Christine Beck in the town of Gols (Burgenland), with their daughter Judith taking over in 2004 after spending time in world-famous wineries in Bordeaux, Piedmont and Chile. A new season for the winery with the main change being the implementation of Rudolf Steiner's biodynamic ideas. This way of working has led to her becoming a member of Pannobile, an association of 9 winemakers in the area who are committed to producing native wines.
The Judith Beck Zweigelt vines are cultivated using biodynamic practices in flat, rich and complex soils near Lake Neusiedl. This is actually the warmest winemaking area in the country, which means grapes ripen earlier. The grapes are selected in the vineyard and harvested by hand.
In the winery, the Judith Beck Zweigelt grape is destemmed and pressed. Alcoholic fermentation happens spontaneously with native yeasts in stainless steel tanks. Afterwards, the wine is moved to 1000-2000 litre acacia wood barrels where malolactic fermentation takes place over two months. It then ages for 8 to 10 months in used barrels.
Judith Beck Zweigelt is a biodynamic red wine that reveals the elegance, power and complexity of a wine with a very good aging potential.

| 2019 | Judith Beck Zweigelt 2019 is a smooth, fruity red. First of all, you can see its colour, dark ruby with violet edges. On the nose, there are cherries, morello cherries and blackberries. The palate is juicy, fresh and young, with soft and elegant tannins. Slightly spicy finish. |
|
| 2017 | Judith Beck Zweigelt 2017 is a fruity red wine with plum and black cherry on the nose. On the palate, it reveals the freshness of the fruit and the body of the wood. | |
