About L'Enclòs de Peralba Ví fi de Masía negre

With the aim of increasing the average life of the vineyards, Roc Gramona, 6th generation of the Gramona quality sparkling winemaking family, runs the Academia de Pruna, the first centre to offer training courses throughout Spain to teach responsible vine pruning and educate on a more sustainable viticulture. He faithfully follows this philosophy at his own project L'Enclòs de Peralba, which he runs with his cousin Leo Gramona, and which is very positively shaking up the Penedès region.

Among his productions we find L'Enclòs de Peralba Ví fi de Masía negre. This wine is made in an old farmhouse bought by the Gramona family using Garnacha Tinta and Syrah grapes planted at 400 metres above sea level, on clay and limestone soils. These vines are cultivated using organic agriculture and biodynamic treatments, and the harvest is carried out manually when the grapes reach optimum ripeness. The winery maintains a philosophy of minimal intervention where the must is fermented with native yeasts and then aged in oak barrels. Finally, the wine is bottled without clarifying or filtering.

The result is great. L'Enclòs de Peralba Ví fi de Masía negre is a red wine that reflects typicity and authenticity. Essential characteristics of a new generation of winemaking that is emerging with force.  

 

2018

L'Enclòs de Peralba Ví fi de Masía negre 2018 is a concentrated red wine with aromas of ripe red and black fruit, spicy notes and hints of toast. The palate is full, meaty and enveloping. A medium-bodied wine with noticeable acidity, marked tannins and a long, lingering finish.
