About Lanzaga

Lanzaga is a red wine made by the Bodega Lanzaga, Compañía de Vinos Telmo Rodríguez winery in Lanciego, D.O.Ca. Rioja.
 

Compañía de Vinos Telmo Rodríguez arose from the collaboration between two oenologists, Pablo Eguzkiza and Telmo Rodríguez, with extensive experience in Burgundy and La Rioja.

This company makes wines in several Spanish denominations of origin (Málaga, Alicante, Rioja, Rueda, Ribera del Duero, Toro, etc.). In all the areas where it produces wines, the winery always tries to use the native varieties from each region.
 

Lanzaga is a wine made with Tempranillo, Graciano and Garnacha grapes, selecting the best fruit from the 15-20 hectares of vineyards that they farm organically, located at an altitude of between 500 and 700 metres.

The grapes are harvested manually and placed in boxes. After fermenting with native yeasts in concrete tanks, the wine is aged for 14 months in fudres and 225 litre French oak barrels.

Lanzaga 2020 unfurls a nuanced allure with an array of spices and a captivating concentration. The bouquet reveals distinct aromas of black cherries and blackberries, interwoven with a hint of black pepper, which imparts a lively character. On the palate, its framework is sturdy, delivering a velvety texture and ripe tannins that foretell a graceful maturation. The enduring presence of its fruit flavors ensures a delightful and lasting finish.
 
2012 Lanzaga 2012 is an intense, serious and elegant wine. A very limited production due to the shortage of the vintage, showing all the character and expression of the wines of the area.
2006 Tasty wine, fruit, good acidity and tannins marked. Good ending.

Intense ruby red garnet.

Aromas of ripe fruit, with balsamic notes on a background of well integrated wood.
