About Malabrigo
Malabrigo is a red wine from the IO Ribera del Duero. It is prepared by Bodega Cepa 21, which is located near Aranda del Duero.
This winery gave its name to an innovative project in which traditional wine methods are combined with modern and functional facilities. According to the winery, this is "the expression of a wine revolution".
Malabrigo is a single variety of Tinta Fina grapes from the Malabrigo estate. The soil on the farm is loam and clay. It is exposed to strong winds and extreme contrasting temperatures, allowing a very long maturation.
The reception of the grapes is done through a pneumatic vibrating hopper, a system that prevents excessive pressures.
The grapes are selected on a table and then destemmed and macerated cold. Fermentation takes place in a temperature controlled warehouse. Finally, Malabrigo is aged for 21 months in new French oak barrels.
| 2019 | Malabrigo 2019 is a densely concentrated, full-bodied red with a deep, high robe, boasting an intense cherry-red hue. On the nose, it is spicy and fruity, with a dominance of dark berries. The palate experiences a harmonious balance, exuding warmth and a friendly character. Robust and substantial, it features well-structured and velvety tannins. |
