About Celler Credo Mirabelles

Mirabelles is an organic and biodynamic white wine made with the Malvasia de Sitges variety produced by Celler Credo in the D.O. Penedès.

Celler Credo call themselves champions of bio (life) and dynamics (movement). They produce organic and biodynamic wines, without using chemical fertilisers, pesticides, or herbicides. These are very personal white wines of the terroir. Dedicated to the Xarel·lo variety, they work hard to interpret and strengthen the properties of this quintessential Penedès variety. However, they also work with other native varieties like this wine made with Sitges Malvasia.

Mirabelles grapes come from a family vineyard with loamy-clay soils, lying 280 metres above sea level. This is a 0.9 hectare area that is certified ecological and biodynamic and where they do things like leaving a spontaneous vegetation cover and using plant-based treatments to protect and strengthen the vines. The harvest is carried out manually at the optimum moment of ripeness.

In the winery, Mirabelles ferments spontaneously with native yeasts, some in stainless steel tanks and the rest in small clay amphorae with low porosity. It then undergoes battonage with the finest lees over a month. Finally it ages in the bottle for two years.

Mirabelles is an organic and biodynamic white wine that revives the vitality and expression of a native Mediterranean variety with great aging potential.
2016 Mirabelles 2016 is a creamy white wine with white fruit, citrus and herbaceous fennel touches on the nose. On the palate it is fresh, unctuous and light with mineral notes and a pleasant finish.
