Oxer Buruzagi 2023 is a red wine with a distinctive and concentrated personality. Upon approaching it to the nose, one detects hints of esparto grass, dry hay, and a subtle aroma of forest fruits such as blackberries and cherries. On the palate, it surprises with a lactic touch that balances its abundant and slightly dusty tannins. About Oxer Buruzagi

In a world as competitive as the wine industry, carving out your own path is no easy feat. Nevertheless, Oxer Bastegieta has achieved this with aplomb, leaving an indelible mark on the wine scene in DOCa. Rioja. His wines not only tell stories but also embody the passion, creativity, and spirit of their creator. Each bottle bears his personal touch, with names and labels that exude strength and magic, inspired by mythology, music, and literature.

A clear example of this dedication is Oxer Buruzagi, a wine whose name in Basque means "thinking head" and refers to King Eneko Aritza, the first king of the Kingdom of Navarre. A wine that, as its name suggests, is a tribute to the history and identity of a place rich in tradition and character.

With a blend of garnacha, monastel riojano, and a small percentage of other white varieties, Oxer Buruzagi hails from the old vineyards of Camprovín, in Rioja Alta (Spain), where the vines thrive at altitude on clay-ferrous soils with a hint of stone and are cultivated organically. In the winery, intervention is minimal, allowing the terroir to express itself in its purest form. Fermentation with indigenous yeasts takes place in 1,000-litre French oak vats, followed by 10 months of ageing in 600L barrels.

The result is a wine that combines freshness, elegance, and depth in every sip. It is no wonder that Oxer Buruzagi has garnered significant acclaim from both critics and discerning wine enthusiasts, who appreciate its unique character and connection to the land. A true discovery!
