About Protos Roble

We warn you, we won't beat around the bush: Protos Roble is one of the best-selling wines in the history of Spain and should not be missing from your cellar. There's no need to mince words when you have one of the finest reds in your hands, crafted from tempranillo and aged for a year in both barrel and bottle.

Protos Roble is cultivated in the winery's own vineyards located in the DO. Ribera del Duero, where a great diversity of soils abounds, mixing vines of various ages that thrive on infertile, limestone-rich soils poor in organic matter. In the case of Protos Roble, the vines are young, less than 25 years old, with high yields, and are manually harvested, selecting only the best bunches which are transported in 20 kg boxes. However, this is not the only test that Protos Roble will undergo, as the grapes are further selected at the winery before being destemmed.

Once the finest bunches have been obtained, Protos Roble is crushed and undergoes cold maceration. During this period, while the must is in contact with the skins, Protos Roble will have its aromas enhanced before fermentation in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. Finally, the finishing touch will be provided by American oak barrels and the rest in the bottle that Protos Roble will have for almost a year (at least four initial months in barrels and another six months in the bottle).

After all this, do you still need more reasons not to purchase your bottle of Protos Roble already?
